| What is Eppard Vision?
| |
Eppard Vision is a non-profit organization dedicated to:
Creating healthy communities and relationships
Empowering people to reach their potential
Enhancing understanding of and fostering appreciation for diversity
Promoting social responsibility
Helping people develop effective communication skills
Reducing violence
We do this by funding educational opportunities for at-risk youth, developing community and neighborhood outreach programs, supporting after-school programs, and developing community-building curricula and teaching resources.

The Eppard Vision Annual Fund
|
Our annual fund is the opportunity for a yearly investment in Eppard Vision. It is a pooling of resources from individuals, businesses and other friends of the Foundation, which enables Eppard Vision to expand our offerings to enrich our many programs. Gifts to the Annual Fund support a variety of services such as scholarships, student projects, curriculum development, building new programs, equipment, and general operating expenses. Annual Fund donors recognize success is a journey, not a destination, and they provide the financial resources necessary to guarantee Eppard Vision's continued margin of service.
Take a look at some of the ways your gift works to help improve the lives
of children in Bellingham and around the world.

An Opportunity to Grow |
Eppard Vision supports program that broaden children's perspective on the world and their knowledge of their own capabilities. Many are afforded opportunities for experiences they may never have had before - a major role in a theatrical production, the opportunity to learn social skills in an increasingly atomized culture, sharing experiences with someone from a different cultural or economic background. Throughout these new experiences, children are encouraged by a close-knit and supportive community to find the connection between the world and the self they are coming to know - to discover how they will reach their full potential.

|
Fun |
Eppard Vision believes that all children should have the opportunity
to have fun, regardless of their economic status. We pay for children
to attend summer camp, art programs, theatre classes and other extracurricular
activities that they would not otherwise be able to afford.
|
| Curriculum Development |
In partnership with Cultivating
Connections, Eppard Vision provides schools, childcare programs,
and other organizations with Branch Out!®, an interactive game
and curriculum that teaches children about themselves and each other.
Branch Out! has been endorsed by the Washington State Attorney General's
office as an effective tool for reducing bullying and violence in
the classroom and on the playground.

A Place "Where Children Come First" |
Because of the personal attention made possible through Eppard Vision's small-sized programs, children are given the individual attention necessary to learn in fun and challenging environments, something that is difficult in an age of public education funding cutbacks. Eppard Vision is challenged to step up and provide resources and funding at a time when government support for education is being cut again and again.

The Wall of Social Consciousness |
With fancy cars and computers, with winning baseball teams and celebrity athletes, it's easy for us to forget the less fortunate, especially when they are halfway around the world. The Wall of Social Consciousness is a traveling photography exhibit that benefits AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe. It is a reflection of our community's deliberate effort to address social issues and effect change. We cannot and should not wait for politicians and governments to make decisions. We as individuals can make a difference.
